Patrick and Jeannie Wilshire are internationally recognized collectors and historians within the genre of fantastic art. Well into their second decade of active collection and promotion of the field, they are responsible for the creation and administration of the IlluXCon symposium of fantastic art and the collector's website the Illustration Exchange (www.munchkinpress.com). They are the co-authors and designers of Visions of Never: The Collection of Fantastic Art and The Art of the Dragon: The Definitive Collection of Contemporary Dragon Paintings, both published by Vanguard Productions. The Wilshires are also the guest curators of the ground-breaking AT THE EDGE exhibition of imaginative realism. Experienced writers, graphic designers, photographers and project managers, Patrick and Jeannie manage all aspects of the AFA's productions themselves—eliminating the delays and disconnects that inevitably occur when projects and events are managed by committee. (The possibility of the lack of committees leading to a need for Patrick and Jeannie to be committed at some point remains open.)
Patrick has a Master's degree in Medieval English Literature, while Jeannie has a Master's degree in Modern Studies with an emphasis in the visual arts. (Trivia note from Pat: Jeannie's undergraduate degree consists of a dual major in English and Theology, so do NOT attempt to argue philosophical or ethical concepts using faulty rhetorical devices with her unless you enjoy taking a linguistic beating. She can understand utterings communicated in Russian, Italian, German and French, so use Spanish or Swahili if you'd prefer your words go undetected.) Both Wilshires live in Altoona, Pennsylvania with their dog Brom, who is not as talented a painter as his namesake, but is much more handsome.
